Since 1920 Naturopathy was well established in Ontario, and by 1952, the profession has been continuously regulated under the Drugless Practitioners Act of Ontario, (and soon to be included in the Regulated Health Professions Act). In the last twenty years, public desire for greater control in the health care process and a growing dissatisfaction with high tech solutions to disease control has resulted in a resurgent interest in the natural methods of preventative health care. This trend has increased demand for Naturopathic services as people have sought to improve or maintain an optimum state of health to help them cope with day-to-day stresses and avoid illness.
